Simple past tense
The simple past tense indicates an action that happen in a specific moment in the past and is now finished. The simple past tense is easy to conjugate in English. In REGULAR verbs all conjugations are exactly the same. The termination (ending) "-ed" is added to the simple form.
Some examples are:
| PRESENT | SIMPLE PAST |
| jump | jumped |
| call | called |
| work | worked |
| play | played |
If the verb is IRREGULAR the different forms need to be memorized. For example:

| have | had |
| write | wrote |
The only verb which changes form for different people or pronouns is the verb "to be".
